While heading to Crested Butte, CO today, we are especially thankful to God for his "small" miracles.
Today all 4 of us boarded our plane from Austin to Denver and all seemed well....at first. Not long after take off, we were climbing and all of a sudden heard a noise that wasn't your typical noise as the left side of the plane was clearly not in line with the right side of the plane and struggling. After a few minutes, the flight attendant got on the loud speaker and informed us we were returning to Austin for a maintenance check. We fly enough to know this wasn't just a maintenance check and especially when the flight attendant kept coming to our row - directly aligned with the left engine - to 'check our seat belts'. To be honest, it was a very scary 30 - 45 minutes and when we started to land, we saw 4 fire trucks on the runway awaiting our arrival. The landing was flawless and within minutes, all 4 trucks were on the left side of the plane. Once we were safely at the gate, the pilot informed us that we had indeed lost our left engine. We are so greatful for the skill and knowledge of our pilots and feel incredibly blessed that we arrived back on the ground safely along with 180 other passengers.
We got to Crested Butte around midnight (6 hours later than planned) but that was a minor detail in the grand scheme of things.
