Meet Baby Riley #3

Mommy had her 3D/4D ultrasound this afternoon and so we were able to 'meet' our new baby. How cool is this? We still have no idea if it's a boy or girl since this picture looks exactly like the ones mommy has of the two of us. Not too long now since we'll know May 27th at 4pm. We can't wait!

Painting Pottery

We didn't have anything planned for today so we went to paint some surprises for daddy, since he's out of town all week (again). Tate picked out an Easter egg and I picked a Firetruck coin bank for daddy to keep his change in. We had so much fun but were bummed to find out we had to wait 5 days to pick up our masterpieces.

More Spring Break Photos

While on Spring Break, we did more than just hang out at the beach. We went to the Corpus Christie Aquarium and also to the USS Lexington. Here are some more shots from our trip.

Back from the Dead?

Mommy was on a phone call talking to a work client who had been really sick the past few days.

Mommy: Hi Amy. How are you feeling? Are you back from the dead?

Tripp: What? Mommy, who is back from the dead?

Mommy: Shh...little guy. I'm on a work call.

Tripp: But who is back from the dead? Back from the dead like JESUS?!?!

Austin Rodeo

Daddy is out of town this weekend and so we decided to make a day of it at the Austin Rodeo. We had a great time on the pony rides, petting zoo and watching the pigs race for Oreos. Tate wanted to ride all of the carnival rides but was too small for most and I just wanted to play the carnival games to try and win a pet goldfish. No goldfish for me this time but maybe next year.

Potty Progress

For the past few weeks, we've been working with Tate and potty training. She's doing really great and is in big girl panties all through the day and just pull ups or diapers at bedtime or naptime. She was so excited to pick out her princess panties, minnie mouse panties and dora panties and is very particular as to which ones she wants to wear that day. She always wants me to help her too, so it's become a bit of a tradition, and mommy thinks I'm one of the reasons she's doing so well. Here are some of the 'notes' we get from school telling us how she did that day. Yeah big girl!

Scottie Pup Day

Did you know that I start kindergarten in the fall? Hard to believe but it's true - and I'm so excited! Today at my new elementary school, that had 'Scottie Pup Day' - which was a little introduction to preschoolers. We had storytime in the library with the principal, had a tour of the school and even got to pick out a snack at the cafeteria and go through the cafeteria line! I saw some familiar faces and will be excited to see them in school with me this fall.

The Big Scare

Today we had quite a scare with Tate. Before my doctor's appointment, mommy took us to have breakfast tacos and while there, Tate fell off of the stool onto the concrete floor and directly on the back of her head. Tate falls a lot and so mommy wasn't too concerned, until she was shivering excessively (even with a sweatshirt on, a blanket, the car heater and 68 degree weather), kept getting nose bleeds and really wasn't herself. Mommy called the doctor and they wanted to see her immediately. After the exam, the doctor sent them to Dell Children's for a CT scan and some imaging tests for Tate. Since mommy has a new baby in her tummy, she wasn't able to go back with Tate and so Miss Becca came up there to be with Tate. Miss Becca said it was a good thing mommy wasn't there because it was pretty tramatic for Tate being restrained for the tests. When the tests were done, Tate came out and told mommy, 'I was so scared but I was brave' and mommy was just so thankful that the tests came out ok and Tate is fine. A big thank you to Miss Becca for being there for my baby!!

5 Year Check Up

Today I had my 5 year check up and I'm 44 lbs and 44.5 inches - 75th percentile for both. I've been asking mommy for 2 days whether or not I would get shots and she kept telling me no. She really thought I didn't have to get any so you can imagine how upset I was when the nurse came in to tell me I needed 2. When she came back in the room with the needles, she had to look for me and found me hiding under the bench. I think the anticipation was worse than anything because I handled them like a champ. Regardless, I'm thrilled to know I won't need more shots until the age of 10. Whew!
