Isms....

A couple of crazy things today - one from daddy and one from Tripp.

There's nothing better than having your boys cook Sunday morning breakfast. They made eggs and pancakes and I decided to show my appreciation by cleaning up afterwards. While cleaning the kitchen, I listened in while daddy tried to explain to the 2 1/2 year old the difference between exothermic and endothermic reaction. Really? I'm not sure who was more confused....me or the little guy.

Tripp's memory frightens me at times. He doesn't forget a thing and we're constantly reminded to watch what we say or talk about in front of him - no matter what it is. We were going to name Tate either Amelia Tate or Amelia Pace and obviously you all know which one we chose. Since naming her in the hospital, Pace has not been mentioned. Tonight, Tripp said "I want to call my baby Pace". Wes and I just looked at each other and asked him where he heard that? He said "In the hospital" and then he continued with "Aunt Cindy told me". Wow! How he remembered that 2 months later is beyond me. He must be a genious!

Thanksgiving 2008

Warning: LOTS of cute pictures!

We had a nice Thanksgiving this year. We were in Tomball with my Gigi, Papa, aunts, uncles and fun cousins on Thursday. The Tomball bunch hadn't met Tate yet (except for Aunt Bunny and Gigi) and I told her on our trip down how much fun they all were. They loved meeting my baby and of course mommy had to document it all digitally. Friday, we went to College Station to see Mama and Mimi B. Not much more I can say here so I'll let the pictures speak for me. I hope every one had a great Thanksgiving!

Tate and cousin, Sydney.
I thought it would be fun to go swimming! Yes - in November. I think I must have been on daddy's watch because mommy would have never let me get in the cold water. I pretended like I was fishing, stripped off my clothes down to my big boy undies and got in. Brrr, chilly!

Tate meeting cousins Hayden, Avery and Mallory. Here are all of the cousins - except for Trevor. He was away hunting. We're a fun bunch!

Gigi and Papa. This was the first time Papa met my baby.

Gigi and Papa with 8 of the 9 grandkids!

And here is a picture of our Tomball Bunch!

Cousin Taylor is way cool. He is in high school and plays football! My baby sure looked little in his arms.

My baby and Uncle Mark.

All of the cousins meeting Baby Tate for the first time. I think they like her as much as I do.

Mallory and Avery are no strangers to the camera, either.

Reese, Avery, Hayden and Mallory with baby Tate.

Aunt Bunny has a 'puppy' named Willa (short for Willahmena). This puppy is a Mastif and is the size of a small horse at this point with 8 more months of growing ahead. Her daddy was 250 lbs and her mama was 210 lbs. Here is Willa checking out my baby and I think her head alone is bigger than Tate! She really liked licking Tate's toes but I don't think Tate appreciated it much.

My uncle Jason is a captain in the Air Force and flies jets. He lives in Florida and I think he's super neat. He leaves for Afghanistan again in a few weeks.

I think my baby had too much turkey.

A Family Tradition

My family owns a lumberyard and it's a tradition to weigh the babies in the Nail Scale. So, to carry on the tradition, here is the youngest grandbaby in the scale. She's thrilled.

Happy baby in the nail scale.

I'm Thankful for Chick fil a

We had our Thanksgiving 'beast' today at school (aka as feast) and we each brought our favorite food to share with our classmates. Miss Patti and Miss Mary Lee said we could each bring whatever we wanted and of course, I brought chicken nuggets from chick fil a. It was an interesting mix from organic mac and cheese from Sophia to bologna from Evan. The best? Emmylou brought a bag of dum dum lollipops! Her mom is so cool.

We each made and decorated hats for our big feast. Here I am being silly, of course.

And here is the spread. We had pringles, french fries from Wendy's, raisins, chocolate chip cookies, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, bologna, ritz crackers with cheese, strawberries (not shown) and the oh so popular DUM DUMS!

The 1st Annual Lighting of the Tree at The Triangle

Well.....we didn't actually make it to see the lighting of the tree BUT we did decorate cookies, visit with Santa and watch Rudolph on the outdoor big screen. The Triangle had their first annual Christmas tree lighting and I went with mommy, daddy, Grammy and my baby. We met up with Emmylou there and had a lot of fun running around and acting like the wild ones that we are.

Making cookies in the park.
Dear Santa - I've sort of been good this year. Does that count? Emmylou and Tripp under the lit 'Christmas' tree. You're supposed to kiss under the mistletoe and NOT the Christmas tree? My bad.
Loulou - is that the Milkyway or the Big Dipper? I think it's the Kit Kat. YUM!

Grammy 911

Grammy came down from Wyoming to help us unpack and get some rest. Yeah, Grammy!! I don't think she knew what she was getting herself into but we're so thankful to have her here with us for a few days. She even has Baby Tate sleeping in HER room at night so mommy can try and get some sleep.

The weekly shower

Tripp and I keep mommy so busy that most of the time, she doesn't know when she's showered last. Sad but true. If mommy isn't showering, then you know that I'm not getting a bath either! Mommy has realized that it is just easier to throw me in the shower when she showers and kill 2 birds with 1 stone. My mommy is so smart. Here I am during my weekly shower today.

We have a winner!!

I think.

I don't like to be put down. Unlike my brother, I'm a snuggler and want to be cuddled tightly and especially by my mommy. Mommy loves snuggling with me but she says it's hard to be productive with a little peanut in her arms all day. She thought a swing would be a good idea and went out and bought one from a great little consignment shop she knows of. I think I really like it....for today anyway. Check back with me next week.

Hmmm. What do I think of this new swing?
I like it! I really like it!

Party Cat is where Tate's at!

Today, mommy had a dentist appointment and wasn't sure if I'd be on my best behavior so Aunt Cindy and the Party Cat girls babysat me at Party Cat. I had so much fun being with all of the oohing and ahing and especially loved that everyone wanted to hold me the entire time. It was a good day and I think I might have been good for business!

By the way, I wouldn't be a very good Party Kitten if I didn't remind you all to go to Aunt Cindy's store or visit her online at http://www.partycat.com/ for all of your holiday needs!

Fun Friends

We had a playdate with my friends at my new house today. Ellie, Emmylou, Sophia and their babies came over to play and have lunch with me, mommy and baby Tate. We had a great time and loved playing outside together.

We explored a bit in the woods and mommy asked us each what we saw out there. Ellie, the intellect, said she saw leaves; I said I saw a reindeer; Sophia said she saw a reindeer and Emmylou? Well, Emmylou claimed to see a KANGAROO! Silly Emmylou!

6 weeks

It's hard to believe but Tate is 6 weeks old already! She is a precious baby but there are definitely differences between Tripp and Tate at this age. Maybe it's because Tripp was about the size Tate is now when he was born, but he was a much better sleeper and eater. Poor Tatie has been dealing with acid reflux and I think she may have her days and nights mixed up a bit which makes for an unhappy Tate and a very tired mommy. We'll figure it out soon. Regardless, we love her to pieces and Tripp is a very loving and protective big brother. She's a lucky little girl!

Tate's Big Girl Drink

We went to the A&M vs OU game this past weekend and it was brutal. Even Tate needed a drink after seeing the Ags get annihilated on the field! Oh well, next year the Ags will be the
Big 12 Champs!

Our littlest Aggie ready for the game.

Smiles

To quote my friend, Becca, When they start smiling it's suddenly all worth it...'

Tate started smiling today and it came at a much needed time. Thank you, baby Tate! Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera available but I know there will be many more opportunities in the days, weeks, months and years to come.

I love you, little one.

The Switch Witch

The Switch Witch came to our house last night. What? You don't know about the Switch Witch? Well......let me tell you about her.

The Switch Witch comes by at night when little boys and girls are sleeping and picks up ALL of the Halloween candy left over from Halloween! In place of the candy, she leaves a note with a special surprise and a new toothbrush and toothpaste. The Switch Witch left Tripp a very large Winnie the Pooh coloring book and new crayons as his surprise. Thank you, Switch Witch!

And more importantly, thanks to Jenny for reminding me to register both kids with the Switch Witch department at the hospital! :)

Home is where the.....tv is?

Tripp loves tv. Every day we battle this because all he wants to do is watch Backyardigans, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jo Jo's Circus........anything. When we moved, the tv was destroyed and I was not all that disappointed about it. Now when Tripp asks to watch tv, I explain to him that the tv is broken and then he says 'I want to go to my old house and watch tv'. Smart little booger.

Tate's First Aggie Game

I took my baby to her first Gig 'Em Aggie game this weekend! I think she might be a lucky charm too since we actually won the game. I tried to teach her the Gig 'Em Aggie songs, but she seemed to be more interested in sleeping since Jennifer held her and kept her so cozy the entire time. Hmmm....I think she's spoiled.

Class of 2031

Victoria and I being sweet friends, for now anyway. Jennifer held my baby for most of the game! I think my baby loved it.
I sure love my baby.
