Hayden's Swim Meet

It was the weekend of cousins!  Not only did we get to see cousin John yesterday in his competition but  cousin Hayden was competing in a state swimming championship in Austin at UT.  We have to brag on Hayden a bit - he only started swimming last October and that happened on accident! He's now slated to be one of the top in the state and has qualified for high school varsity yet he's only in 8th grade.  We think he hung the moon and we loved being there to cheer him on.  And best part is he came in 1st!

John's Trap & Skeet Competition

Cousin John was in a shooting competition at Decker Lake in Austin and we got to go watch. We think cousin John is pretty nifty - and he happens to be one of the top trap & skeet shooting champs in the state!

Home!

Tripp is home!  Mom, Ms. Carrie and Ms. Amy went to Fredericksburg to spend the night since they had to be picked up really early Saturday morning.  It's going to be a long trip home but I can't wait to see him!  While there, Tripp showed mom around his cabin, the camp grounds and all of the activities he got to participate in.  They also did a camp show for the parents and mom loved seeing all that her sweet boy got to do over the week he was away.  I guess he had a good time because before they even left, he wanted to sign up for next year!

Art Winner

Guess who won the Perry Park summer art contest?  I did!  I wish we had a picture to share but mom didn't copy it before submitting.  I won gift certificates to Amy's Ice Cream!  It doesn't get sweeter than that.

D-11 Championship Game

What an incredible season!  Tripp had to miss the last game due to camp but we all went to cheer on the team and be there to represent Team Riley.  We came off of a strong spring season as Champs and continued to play in the D-11 Championship Tournament.  Double elimination and we played through the very end in the final championship game.  We were matched against the undefeated, All Stars, and although it was a tough loss, we played our hearts out with less experience and practice time than the other team. We never gave up - and that's what matters in the end.

Frozen Camp 2014

Kid's Acting has camps throughout the year and I thought it'd be fun to try out for 'Frozen'.  You KNOW how I LOVE Frozen!  I've never been in a play or auditioned for anything but I did great and landed the part of young Ana.  I'm even singing a solo! The camp is a week long and then we have a special performance for family and friends.  Emmylou is doing camp as well and won the part of Olaf.

Camp Eagle

Today we took Tripp to San Antonio to catch a shuttle to his first away camp.  It's a Christian camp called Camp Eagle and it's about 4 hours away.  He's going to have an incredible time but we're going to miss him so much.  We won't have access to him while he's away so it's going to be a long and quiet week without him.  He went with our friends, Reagan and Laurel along with their cousin, Gus.  I cried all the way home and can't wait to have my big brother back!

Monster Dawgs

Man, what a game!   Our Monster Dawgs DO.NOT.QUIT!  At the game tonight, they were down 11 to 1 but stayed strong and came back to win 16 - 15.  Way to knock it out of the park!

Strong or Sleeping?

Levi loves his 'little thing'.  Most mornings, he wakes up and announces whether it's strong or sleeping.  May be too much information in a few years but when you're 3, it's pretty darn cute.

11months

Fun! Fun! Fun!  Our baby sister is now to the point where she's fun to play with and thinks we're the coolest thing since sliced bread.  She's cruising around everywhere - crawling, pulling up, walking around furniture - she loves yelling at mom and her new hobby is biting.  She has 6 sharp little razor teeth and ouch!   New skills are clapping and saying mama, dada.   For the record, she said mama first!  Lexi is spoiled rotten because of Ms. Ana and is barely on the ground when she's around.  The girl loves food - especially Ms. Ana's rice and beans.  Now that she's mastered standing in her crib, we'll see how long it takes her to master her new goal of climbing up the stairs.

Last day of School!

The last week of school is really just social hour, fun and games but the last day of school REALLY is!  Today Mr. Gay had a fun day planned and the class got to choose whatever they wanted to do.  Most of the boys played Ga Ga Ball and although I'm not really sure of the rules or how it's played, it's a huge topic of conversation with Tripp and his buddies.  They play all of the time and come home with hurt knuckles and skinned up knees.  I guess boys will be boys!  Thanks for a great second grade year, Mr. Gay!  You're one of the favorites and will be hard to beat.

Lunch with the boys

Mommy likes to go to the school and have lunch with Tripp from time to time.  It's special moments between the two of them and they get a chance to visit and catch up without the chaos from the rest of the Rileys.  Lately, he's been asking to have his buddies join and of course she always says the more the merrier. Gone are the days of one on one time.....for now.  These boys are just goofy!  All of the time.

That's Right, you're not from Texas!

Look who mommy met while at her girl's dinner last night?

Lexi's Child Dedication - Hill Country Bible Church

Daddy is a bad influence!

I'm not sure how this happened but somehow when daddy and Tripp went to run errands, they fell into the Tesla dealership.
