Happy Halloween!

So this year, my baby and I dressed as..................a monkey and his banana! Great concept except the banana didn't want to stay in her 'peel' very long. Our neighborhood had a party down at the little restaurant on the lake where we had pizza, pinatas, costume contests and hayrides to the houses for candy! I had so much fun trick or treating and even got to sample a few pieces when I got home. Oh, and in case you're wondering, Tate's costume is a dog costume. See the ear holes? :) My poor banana.

A beautiful butterfly came to trick or treat with me!

Lifetime Halloween Carnival

In preparation for trick or treating tonight, we had a 'dress rehearsal' and went to the Halloween festival at our gym. I didn't get much candy but I know that I'll more than make up for it tonight.

The Hoot 2009

Each year, Highland Park Elementary has their 'Hoot Festival' and each year we go to Aunt Cindy and Uncle Chris' for pizza (with Victoria, of course) and all head over after dinner. This year was no exception - except that I really 'got it' for the first time. I loved all of the games and activities but my favorite? The Cake Walk! They had great music to dance to and even better, I won a cake this year!

I won! There were so many cakes to choose from but mommy said I could pick ANY cake I wanted. My prize? Why, a 'wormy cake' of course.

Halloween cooking with Mommy

Tomorrow is my Halloween party at school and mommy and I signed up to bring a sweet treat. Instead of something typical like cookies or rice krispy treats, we decided to be a little more 'creative'. What do you think? Mommy thinks they look more like mice droppings than mice. He he.

We also made some caramel apples for my teachers at school. I sure hope they like them!

Miss Liz's 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving Party

Miss Liz started a pumpkin carving party last year and it was a huge success. Last year my pumpkin was a happy, smiling pumpkin but this year I decided to pick a 'darker' pattern. Daddy helped me carve it - ok, daddy CARVED it - and my baby offered moral support. There were pumpkins of all shapes and sizes and lots of kids to play with, including my favorite puppy of all times, Chloe. Thank you for such a fun party, Miss Liz. We can't wait until next year!!

Halloween Parade

Today was our Halloween Parade and performance at school. We all dressed up in our costumes and paraded through the chapel for our family and friends to see and then each class sang a song on stage. We sang 'Bats are sleeping, bats are sleeping, upside down, upside down. Waiting for the nighttime, waiting for the nighttime, then they fly around. Then they fly around'. (To the tune of 'Are you Sleeping'). I had so much fun in my costume and am excited that Halloween is only a few days away!

Singing proud and strong
My baby and Miss Connie came to cheer me on. My baby didn't dress up today because it was my special day. She and I will dress up together on Saturday!

Shamu! Shamu! Shamu!

I love Shamu! We went on a last minute trip to Sea World this weekend with Gaby and some new friends and I had so much fun. It's been over a year since I'd been and I was more 'into' it this time around. I was even tall enough for the Shamu roller coaster! It was also my baby's first visit to Sea World. She loved the dolphins and cried when they would swim away from her.

The Great Pumpkin

It's that time of year again! Time to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve for Halloween. This year, I also wanted to pick one out to make a pumpkin pie with mommy because I'm such a good cook these days. My baby loved the pumpkins almost as much as I did!

Why, hello handsome!

Sweet Girlfriends

Baby Eden and her mommy came into town briefly (they've moved to Chicago) and spent some time with us. My baby was so excited to see her and they had the best time together!

Aggieland with the Holts

Two weekends ago, Gaby and her family went with us to the Gig 'Em Aggie game in College Station. Mommy forgot her camera but fortunately, Gaby's mommy is as much as a shutterbug as my mommy is and she took enough pictures for an army. We had such a good time and really enjoyed having them as our guests. My aggies didn't win but they put up a good fight!
Game faces on? Check!
