Tripp's Last day of kindergarten

You would have thought Tripp was graduating from college, the way mom was acting about kindergarten.  She seemed calm and collected all day - until it was time for pick up.  Tripp told her it was ok and that he could go to kindergarten again next year and I think mommy is ACTUALLY considering it!   Mrs. Olson was the greatest teacher ever and I can't wait to have her in a few years all to myself.

First Haircut

Lots of firsts lately!  In order to not make the same mistake twice, Levi had his first haircut today so that others wouldn't mistake him for a girl.  When Tripp was little, mommy and daddy refused to cut his hair and even if he had all blue on, people still said how 'cute SHE was'.  Levi was a champ and was especially excited to get his reward afterwards - a lollipop from Mexico.  Another first!

Levi's 1st Birthday party

Poor Levi!  We had to put his party off a week but he didn't mind one bit.  We had BBQ and cake with lots of friends to sing him happy birthday.  He's definitely a Riley and loves his sweets!

Tate-ism

To everyone she came across before the wedding:
"I'm going to be a flower girl and bubba is going to be the ring toss bearer'

At the wedding - looking in the dressing room while Tripp is getting ready for the wedding:
"Um, Bubba?  That's not a bear costume!  You're supposed to be the ring toss bear."

(I kid you not)

The Wedding!

In true mommy fashion, our weekend was jam-packed full. BUT, this time it really wasn't her fault. Tripp and I are in a wedding in Waco this weekend and had to go to the rehearsal last night....in Waco. No problem except for the fact that my first dance recital was the next morning so we drove to Waco, did the rehearsal, skipped the rehearsal dinner and headed back to Austin. The next morning, we went to my recital, raced over to Ms. Leti's so she could transform me from a ballerina/tap star into a flower girl and then raced back to Waco in time for wedding pictures and THE WEDDING! I've been sooooo excited to be in this wedding and am taking my role VERY seriously. Mr. Chris and Ms. Chelsey have been friends of my Grammy and Gramps forever and mommy knew them when they were little tiny. So, this was a huge honor for them to ask us to be a part of their special day. Except for the part when I was on stage wiggling around because I was bored and Bubba was making faces at me from the groom's side, I'd say it was an overall success.

First Dance Recital

I've been taking tap and ballet and we had a recital to show all that we've learned. We did a tap routine to the 'teddy bear' song and I was such a good little dancer! Afterwards, I didn't just get flowers, I got 2 bouquets - one from each brother. I'm such a lucky girl and was so glad my family was there to see me shine.

Music Fest and Ice Cream Party

To celebrate the upcoming end of kindergarten, Tripp's class performed a music festival for the parents and then celebrated with an ice cream party. All of the mommies brought things to share and what did we bring? Tripp's favorite cherries, of course!
Hu???? Doesn't Mrs. Olson know we're AGGIES?? She's corrupting my brother!

Mud & Water Day

The greatest day of the whole school year is finally here! Our very own mud & water day! Last year I was still in the Children's Morning Out program so we didn't have a 'real' mud & water day but today it was the full-blown thing. We had paints, shaving cream, car washing, lots of mud and lots of water. More than that, we had fun, fun, fun and ended the afternoon with popsicles.

Levi's 1st Birthday!

Today is mother's day but also Levi's first birthday! Daddy and Tripp have been on the father/son camp-out all weekend so JP's family invited us over to celebrate mommy and Levi. Before we left, Tripp and Daddy showed up so we all headed over to crash the party. It was fun to help my baby brother celebrate his first birthday and we're having a party for him next week. you might not be able to notice much but this is a '7' candle and not a '1'. MOM!! Poor 3rd kid!

The Bus Stop

The bus comes to our house VERY early to pick up Tripp for school. Because we live so far out, it usually is at our house at 6:40am in order to get to school by 7:35. The 'bus stop' is at the end of our drive way and mommy and Tripp find all sorts of things to do to pass the time. This morning, they had story time.
