Coach's Corner

Tripp is in fall ball and is part of a great team!  His coach sent an email to all of the dads and it's one to remember so it's included below.  Daddy added his thoughts as well.

Tripp –

You had a tough night in the batter’s box all night tonight.  But because Team Riley never quits, you kept a positive attitude and came up with the game winning hit.

Congratulations Tripp Riley - great job!!  Mom and I are very proud of the progress you’ve made.

Team Riley never quits.

I love you.

-Dad

Subject: Tonight's Game

Sorry for the late email, but I think I left the field and our players with a negative attitude this evening, despite the boys winning their game and some great plays from everyone.  It was not our greatest night, but we still won the game and every boy contributed to the success of the team.  Please share this email with your sons and let them know that I was proud of each of them.

I want to thank Coach Lamb for his comments at the end of the game and for  bringing a positive attitude back to our end-of-game meeting and reminding everyone that the boys did well.  I was pretty tough on the boys and it was nice to have another viewpoint for them.

Also, thanks to Coach Small for coming in for the save, nice pitching tonight.

As for the boys, each one of them should be proud for some of the contributions they made tonight.  Using the lineup order as a guide:

James played tough with a gash over his eye.  Thanks to the mom and the nurse from the other team for looking out for him. I should have been more appreciative at the time to both of the ladies helping out and looking after him.
Thomas hustled his way through the game as always and made a nice play while pitching
Campbell showed great sportsmanship when running into a force at second base
Ed hustled into 2nd base while running and beat a throw that would have ended our inning.
Rider hustled and continued to show off his great fielding and flexibility at multiple positions
Jack H had a great day at 1st base
Charlie was a hoover vacuum at Pitcher
Parker hit one ball tonight as hard as I have seen anyone hit all year, and also led us off into the bottom of the last inning with a hit and he scored the tying run
Kaden played well all game and actually scored the winning run for us tonight.
Jack M made a hit at a crucial time for us to keep us going
Colt batted in the tying run for us tonight and made a nice play while at pitcher
Tripp batted in the winning run and saved the day for us.  I was thrilled for him tonight.

We have had a great season so far and I look forward to continuing our streak of great baseball...
