Arrival of Baby # 3 already?
Not yet but he/she sure wanted to make an appearance early. Around 10:30 at night, mommy started having contractions and went to the hospital to see what was going on. They ended up keeping her for 2 days and were able to stop most of the contractions before letting her go home. She's on bed rest at least through the weekend, but knowing mommy, she's not going to do well with the 'doctor's orders'. We're so excited to meet our new baby.......but not yet! It still has some growing today but we'll meet him/her in about a month. I can't wait!

Easter 2011
The Easter bunny came to our house while we were sleeping and brought us all sorts of fun surprises. Besides the candy, Tatie's favorite is the movie 'Tangled' and mine is the remote control Hex spider bug. After our baskets, we had a fun Easter egg hunt in the house. I think the Easter bunny hid the eggs inside this year because it looked like rain outside. Smart bunny.

The Story of Mother Tree
Annie is a friend from school and her grandmother is an author. Awhile back, she wrote a book about the Oriental Garden at Zilker Botanical Park. It was built by a Japanese man named Isamu Taniguchi in 1969 as a way to say thank you to the city and to UT for all they had provided for his family over the years. (Well said, Becca). She came to each of our classrooms and read the story to us and signed a book for us to take home. This weekend, we thought it would be fun to search for Mother Tree and here are some pictures of our adventure. The bridge-to-walk-over-the-moon

African Safari - Texas Style
Today, we headed south to N. San Antonio to the Wild African Safari - Texas Style. We each got a bag of food and drove through the 'safari' while animals came to our car and ate from our hands! We touched so many animals that we'd never been close enough to before - including a buffalo, zebra, ostrich and others. The longhorns were more interested in their hay, which is probably a good thing. Did you see the horns on them? Wow! After our drive through safari, we went to the petting zoo and played with the baby goats. It was a great adventure for a Monday afternoon.
Discount Haircut
Mommy: Tate, what are you doing?
Tate: Cutting my hair.
Mommy: You're what?? Come here.
Tate comes over with kitchen scissors and locks of hair showing off her new 'layered' look. A long conversation follows about why we don't cut hair and then a trip to time-out.
Mommy: Why were you in time-out?
Tate: Because I was cutting my beautiful hair.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt
This year, we hosted the neighborhood Easter egg hunt at our home. There were a ton of eggs and it was a ton of fun! We got lots of practice before the Easter bunny really shows up next weekend....in addition to the sugar high from all of the candy we had to sample before the hunt was even over.

Payday!
Over the past couple of months, Tate and I have been working hard on our 'charts' - her potty chart and my icky thumb chart. Well, today we got to take our charts to Terra Toys and exchange them for whatever we wanted! Such tough decisions but I ended up with more trains and Tate ended up with yet another baby! We know what we like. Mommy and daddy are so proud of us and I have to say, I'm proud of us too.

First Pedicure!
Since Bubba and daddy are having a boy's weekend camping, mommy and I get to have a girl's weekend together. And you can't have a girl's weekend without.........a pedicure! I went and had my very first mani/pedi and L.O.V.E.D I.T! I sat so still and was so good - mommy was absolutely amazed. Of course, I picked out PINK and the manicurist even put glitter and hearts on my toes. What a fun time (and what a spoiled girl to have such pampering at 2 1/2). For the rest of the day, I kept telling mommy, 'My toes are beautiful! I love them!'.

Father/Son Camping Weekend
Each year, our church has a father/son camping trip and this was our 2nd year to attend. I've looked forward to this all year and have even had my bag packed for about a month now. Today, daddy and I loaded up the car and headed out towards the campsite near Bastrop. Once we set up camp, the first thing I wanted to do was fish. In fact, that's pretty much all I wanted to do all weekend and ended up catching 14 fish in total. I also enjoyed zip lines, archery, wood working and a number of other outdoor camping activities but the best part of the weekend was spending quality time with my daddy. Thank you for being the best daddy ever!
